Nimmo's Pond Basics

Weapons:
Green Bug - Rapid Fire
Yellow Bug - Spread
Orange-Yellow - Depth charge weapon (not good)
Red - Health
Blue - Paddle power
Black - Bomb

Technique:
Well if you're not confident simple in this game do not move :) Also remember to leave one lily left at the end, in case you need to restore some paddle power as this can drop by turning lots but thankfully is easy to regain by staying still..

Most weapons are good, especially the green "rapid fire" and the yellow "spread". It may sound annoying- but no moving once again! even the slightest tap with your up or down button will cause you to move FOREVER in the game! there is NO stopping once you go.

I'd recommend you go after the red, blue, black, green and yellow ones And remember not to move when grabbing them, wait for it to come to you! If you see a bug that's changing it's colors- Its not really smart to go after it unless you are absolutely positive what color it is- it may change your weapon... collect the same color bugs for your shooting it makes it stronger) it gets easier with that.

Shooting:
Well yet again I'd recommend not moving.. Just turn and shoot, go for the ones heading for you first.. if you do get hit smaller lillies cause less damage and red bugs aren't too rare thankfully... Don't be to ready to use your bombs, only use in a real serious situation as you only start with 3 and black bugs can be rare. After that its just practice and more practice.

Okay now i have gone on about not moving ever.. A little secret I move about but I am confident in doing it, I'd say don't think about it until you master all the above. It helps to save the odd hit from a lily and can save bombs but once you start moving you'll never come to a full stop again..

If you ever do feel confident enough to move about, practice on the earlier levels, clear all the lilies except for one and then spend some time moving around.. You have to paddle in the opposite direction to the one your heading to slow down.. If you can move about with control then don't do it as it will almost mean certain death if the screen is crowded with lilies..

That's it! Have fun! And remember- moving bad (most of time) , bugs good (All of time) ! ^_^

The object of the game is to swim your little froggy around (using the arrow keys) and shoot the lily pads floating in the pond. You have 3 different shots that your froggy spits out or shoots to hit the lily pads. You shoot using the space bar.

The green shot is called Rapid, The yellow shot is called Spread and the orange shot is called Launch. Each type of shot has 5 power levels and each color of shot works differently.

The green or Rapid shot just shoots straight forward and the higher the level the more powerful the single shot is or you get double or triple shots coming out at the same time. Shooting rapid fire allows 5 shots to come out in a row before a small break occurs then 5 more shots come out.

With the yellow or Spread, you will get a more powerful shot with each level but they spread out more so it is easier to hit the bigger lily pads at a distance. Shooting rapid allows 2 shots to come out in a row before the break, the 2 more etc.

The orange or Launch (my favorite) shoots 1 shoot at a time and lobs it at the lily pad. You don't have to hit the lily pad cause there is area damage that goes along with it. With each corresponding level, you get a more powerful shot and a farther lob distance.

Another way to destroy the lily pads is to hit the B key and detonate a bomb. You only get 3 of these to begin with so use them sparingly. They do affect a large area.

As you hit and destroy the lily pads they can break apart into smaller pads or you will randomly get bugs flying around. To eat these bugs you get close and hit the V key and watch as your froggy's tongue pops out and gobbles up the flying protein.

The color of the bug determines what advantage you get. Green changes you to rapid, yellow to spread, orange to launch, black (or dark brown) give you another bomb (to a max of 3), red gives you more health and blue gives you more paddle power.

Keep in mind that to gain levels in a certain shot, you must only eat that type of bug. ie: level 3 in rapid means you have gobbles 3 green bugs. If you accidentally gobble a yellow of orange bug, you will go to level 1 of that type of shot.

Hitting the lily pads with your froggy will chew down its health and swimming too much with out resting will us up your paddle energy. If you go down to 0 in either one the game ends. If you are like me and you play this for the neopoint value then you only have to survive to level 20. Then go ahead and let your froggy eat the lily pads to end the game and collect your 1000 np.

Good luck and happy gaming!
