Pterattack Hints
Submitted by: rivi2002hk

The game Pterattack has been renewed recently, and things have changed a bit.

- Weapons -
The number of weapon variations are as follows:

Red - Fireball:
This series resemble the "Blue" series in the old version. For levels 1, 2 or 3, there are N fireballs fired in N directions, each fireball having a strength of N (N is the level of weapon); while level 4 is a 3-part confrontal wave (strength 4).

Blue - Ptershot (default):
This series resemble the "Red" series in the old version. There are 4 levels of single shooters (with increasing strength), but all levels look the same and shoot in the same way.

Green - Pterpod:
This series resemble the "Green" series in the old version. Level 1 shoots 3 pods in perpendicular direction (front, left and right). Levels 2 and 3 shoot two (stronger) pods in front-left and front-right direction. Level 4 is a laser-like shooter with limited distance.

Purple - Pterboom:
This series resemble the "Red-white" series in the old version. For level 1 one boomerang-like weapon is shot out. The other levels shoot two boomerangs each time, and they are stronger and bigger for each level.

If you grab a different power-up you are hit back to the weakest weapon of that series.

- Enemies -

Pteradons are differed by colours:
Orange (1hp)
Green (2hp)
Blue (3hp)
Gold
White

The white Pteradons fly (very fast) diagonally from the sides instead of vertically, and the Gold Pteradons are considerably harder to kill. There are mightier Pteradons at higher levels but I forgot them.

The Grarrl is still here but now hittable. If you hit it with weapons it will retreat.

- Lives -

You have 3 lives to start with (5 in the old version)

200 points worth a level and 2 levels earns you an extra life, but both figures go up for higher levels.

- Tips -

1. You have to spread out - you should not choose narrow-ranged weapons if possible.

2. Do NOT try to wipe out everything in your way, because that means more chance of getting a different power-up. In higher levels, getting different power-ups can be deadly. Try to kill the Pteradons really blocking your way ONLY and duck a bit more.

3. Stay away from the edges. Not only the left and right edges costs lives, but also white Pteradons come out from the sides and the Grarrl comes from the bottom. You will have enough space to retreat if you stay in somewhere near the middle.
